Color Harmony in Tonal Painting Part I (open to all levels)
This intensive 4-week class offers painters of all levels a full introduction to oil painting materials and techniques, including color palette range and control, as well as drawing concepts as relevant to painting from observation. Each day will include a morning of demonstration and color exercises, followed by an afternoon of still life or figure painting that will draw on the morning’s lesson. Bring a bag lunch to enjoy during the break.

Color Harmony in Tonal Painting, Part II (previous oil painting experience required)
This intensive 4-week class builds on oil painting materials and techniques covered in Part I, including color mixing control, the benefits of various solvents and mediums, and expanded approaches to color harmony such as the use of toned grounds and indirect painting techniques. Each day will include a morning of lecture, demonstration and laboratory, followed by an afternoon of still life or figure painting that will draw on the morning’s lesson. Bring a bag lunch to enjoy during the break.
